| Malaysia,
unlike many of its neighbors, has neither been westernized beyond
recognition, nor is it in perpetual distress. And it is one of the
world’s more harmonious culturally blended societies –
really. The Capital Kuala Lumpur has modern hotels, a hot night
life and the sacred Batu Caves, where worshippers pay homage to
their gods amidst flocks of wild monkeys. Outlying areas like Langkawi
and Penang feature every environmental confection from rain forests
to vistas of island-based cliffs rising from soothing blue seas.
The rest of Asia is certainly worth visiting, but
Malaysia is the best of Asia. |
