Its fame
for that fabulous feast Paris is quite understandable. However,
France also is home to the tallest mountain in
Europe – Mt. Blanc. Southwest of the Matterhorn, with is in
the Swiss town of Zermatt, is Chamonix, a French village 3 1/2 hours,
via high-speed train, from Paris. The resort is perched beneath
Mt. Blanc. On that stretch of the Alps, the mountains appear farther
apart, more distinct and jagged. But for those who prefer to hang
out inside, Paris’s Musée D’Orsay, a train station-turned
museum, is the heaven of Impression, feature Degas, Renoir, and
almost every major painter who ever birthed a sublimely blurry painting.
