miss Colonial Williamsburg. A re-creation of the town that was Virginia’s
capital from 1699 to 1780, it makes use of diverse resources from
cobblestone streets to costumed actors to 88 architecturally restored
structures to create an uncanny picture of the past. And the University
of Virginia in Charlottesville hosts an annual book festival featuring
up-and-coming writers and famous authors for days of readings and
events.
