Drive down the Great River Road outside Dubuque and get a front row seat beside the grand Mississippi. It’s connected through Routes 26, 52 and 99, and you’ll pass wildlife refuges and intricate dam systems, as you wind your way along the river bank. And at the northwest corner of the state you will find beach resorts centered around six bodies of water known as the Iowa Great Lakes.
