Mount Hood is impressive, but water is this state’s true crowning glory. Take US 101 for a 63-mile stretch of some of the best coastal scenery in the country. And on the northern rim, the Columbia River runs between Oregon and Washington and an occasional bridge will let you drive across while taking in wonderful sights.
